Palm accidentally leaked information about its new handset, Palm Treo 850, also called Treo Pro on its website. Before they could remedy the small error, the presentation was already posted all over the blogosphere.
According to the annotated online photo, the Treo Pro includes a 2.4-inch, 320-by-320-pixel touch screen, a micro-USB connector, microSD expansion slot and runs on a 400MHz with 100MB of RAM.
The unit is supposed to include both Wi-Fi and GSM. The snatched information seems to indicate that the device will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional rather than the not-yet-released refresh of the Palm OS. A 2-megapixel camera is also present on the back of the handset.
Treo Pro comes with a glossy black and white color scheme. The handset also comes with some improvements such as a 3.5mm headphone jack, wireless button on the side and a microUSB connector.
Though the launch date of the set has not been announced, it is expected to hit the markets soon. There have been further reports, which say that Palm has placed 5 million-unit orders for 2009 with the Asian mobile phone manufactures, Compal Communications.
